Fast fashion is a huge problem, but not everyone can afford to shop ethically, and yet from an environmental point of view, buying second-hand is definitely better. Luckily, the sale of second-hand clothes has grown exponentially in recent years, and there are loads of second-hand clothes websites suited for all wallets.
To make second-hand clothes shopping easy for you I have collated a list of more than 50 second-hand clothes websites for you to check out. I have split them by:
- countries they ship to: worldwide, UK, US and other
- where they are based (some are physical stores that also sell online)
- price range – I’ve added pound symbols to express this, ranging from cheap £ to very expensive £££.
As well as buying, you can also sell your clothes on most of these websites/apps.

Rewind Vintage has been running since 2010. One Scoop Store (£-££)

Rokit (£-£££)
Rokit burst onto the scene with a stall in London’s iconic Camden Market in 1986. They have also developed their own Rokit Originals Range, a collection of reworked vintage and limited edition statement pieces.
Thrifted (£-££)
Thrifted is an online retailer of vintage men’s and women’s fashion, selling predominantly 80s & 90s brands and styles to students around the UK & Europe (they ship worldwide).
Dirty Disco (£-££)
Based in Manchester, UK, they offer free international shipping on orders over £100.
OAFO (£-££)
Second-hand clothing for women, all “buy 1, get 1, at 50% off”. They also donate a percentage of every-sale to Sepsis Trust UK.
The Frokery (£-££)
A small, family-run business based in Scotland, UK. Established in 2007, they specialise in the online sale of pre-owned, vintage and retro clothing and accessories. Overseas customers: send them your order directly by email and they will invoice you after calculating the correct postage for your item(s).
Beyond Retro (£-££)
Beyond Retro began in 2002 as a single warehouse-turned-retail store in East London, stocked with an eclectic range of vintage sourced from around the globe. The Beyond Retro label is crafted from reclaimed materials, leveraging the world’s collective closet to deliver circular fashion.

The Break launched from a Brooklyn (US) apartment in October 2014 but truly began in Wisconsin around Y2K. The Break has since expanded from an online space to a real-life destination, opening up shop in Brooklyn in December 2016.

UK-based sites/shops that ship only to the UK
Editsecondhand (££-£££)
Launched in 2010, the editsecondhand team edit stock so that only the most relevant and highest quality designer womenswear is offered for sale. Their physical shop is in Cuckfield, West Sussex.
Micolet (£-££)
On Micolet you can find second-hand clothes from brands such as Zara woman, ASOS outlet, New Look outlet, Topshop outlet, Ted Baker outlet, Tommy Hilfiger women and many more. They also sell to France, Italy, Germany, Spain and Portugal.
Re-Fashion (£-££)
Re-Fashion helps charities that can’t open a shop to raise money from donated clothes. Items sold on Re-Fashion earn a charity up to three times more than they would from a charity shop.
Break Vintage (£-££)
Break Vintage is based in the East Midlands of the UK. Established in 2017, it focuses on clothing from the early 90s onwards from brands like Nike, Fila and Adidas to ones like Dior, Gucci and Chanel. Mostly specialising in American brands like Tommy Hilfiger and Ralph Lauren both 90s-00s icons.
Refashioner (£-££)
Designer pieces and exceptional vintage from private collections. They’re organized by owner and come complete with stories.
The Endless Wardrobe (££-£££)
Mostly a rental platform, but you can also buy the clothes instead of just renting them.
Loopster (£-££)
Loopster is mostly for children’s clothes, but they also sell women’s clothes. And if you want to sell to Loopster, you simply order the Loopy Clear-Out bag and fill it up with your child’s unwanted clothes. Back at Loopster HQ, they check the condition and quality of the garments. If it makes the grade, they’ll pay you for it. The rest gets returned to you or, if you agree, donated to the charity, Traid.
Preloved (£-££)
Preloved began in 1998 and has grown to become one of the largest classified advertising sites in the UK with hundreds of thousands of adverts in over 500 categories.
US-based sites that ship only within the US
Swap.com (£-££)
Swap.com is an online consignment store offering used baby, kid’s, maternity, men’s and women’s apparel and accessories. Sellers price their own items and Swap.com handles the fulfilment and returns process for items sold.
Patagonia Worn Wear (£-££)
Worn Wear products are Patagonia items that come from customers or were collecting dust in their distribution centre. Most items are cleaned using CO2 which saves water and energy compared to conventional methods.
REI used gear (£-££)
The REI used gear selection ranges from hiking shoes to rain jackets to tents and gadgets. Just like the company’s regular offerings, REI Used Gear is stacked with great outdoors brands like Merrell, Big Agnes, Patagonia, and Mountain Hardwear.
thredUP (£-££)
thredUP is a fashion resale website with over 35k brands where consumers can buy and sell secondhand clothing online.
Poshmark (£-£££)
Poshmark operates in US and Canada. It’s a social commerce marketplace for fashion where anyone can buy, sell and share their personal style. Material World (££-£££)
A stylist will be assigned to you, understand your personal style, budget and fit and handpick 5 curated pre-owned designer items just for you based on your preferences.
Berri Kids (£-££)
Based in the San Francisco Bay Area, California, their online store offers new and gently-used baby and kids’ clothing from top brands, without the high prices.
Inspirations (£-££)
Inspirations’ first store opened its doors in 2007. Since then, they have opened 4 more stores in the New Jersey area.
Kidizen (£-££)
Kidizen is a web and mobile app platform for shopping, selling, and sharing kids’ clothes.
Schoola (£-££)
Schoola was launched in 2013 to support schools in putting paintbrushes, baseballs and violins back into the hands of children. Parents donate their children’s gently used clothing. The clothes are then listed on the website and schools receive proceeds from every item sold. Currently, they support over 30,000 schools and the top-earning schools have raised more than $50,000 each.
